2009 was another successful year for Fort Erie Credit Union!
We held our 59th Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Bridgewater Golf and Country Club.
There were 110 members & 14 guests in attendance. President Barrie Golding introduced Town Councilor Sandy Annunziatia who surprised the membership with a visit to share his experiences running with the Olympic Torch; Sandy encouraged everyone to have their picture taken holding the torch.
For fiscal 2009, Net Income was reported as $93,257 and our Assets reached a credit union milestone of $51,186,815. Many door prizes were won and a light buffet was enjoyed following the adjournment.
Congratulations to Rebecca Havill who receives the new title of Chief Executive Officer ... CEO of Fort Erie Community Credit Union Limited ... with the adoption of the new by-laws precipitated by the changes in the Credit Union Act last year.
New Mission Statement was unveiled ... We are a community focused financial services provider dedicated to our members by delivering personalized services in a welcoming atmosphere. Our Vision ... People helping people to achieve their goals and dreams.
Directors Barbara Scarlett, Robert Smith and Patricia Sparling were re-elected to the board for a 3 year term by acclamation.
Staff Awards were presented ... Perfect Attendance ... Loan Officer Patti Carpenter, Head Teller Heather Lorking & MSR Valerie Gagnon. 10 years of Service ... Head Teller Fran Gagnon. 25 years of Service ... Loan Officer Patti Carpenter & CEO Rebecca Havill.
Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School Teacher Bill Connor gave a presentation covering the students' activities lending through our Small Change Program and was presented with a cheque for $1,000 representing our credit union's continuing committment to this worthwhile program.
Congratulations to Pat Hegarty, winner of our email address draw ... Pat will be enjoying dinner at The Old Bank Bistro restaurant courtesy of Fort Erie Credit Union!
A big 'Thank You' to the AGM committee for their hard work in organizing this event, to the Fort Erie Credit Union staff for their assistance both before and throughout the evening & to Bridgewater Golf & Country Club for their professional presentation and for providing the refreshments.
